What we could not confirm
Whether your particular train is running. TfL publishes line-level status, not per-train status, so the operator is the only place that can confirm your train.
So the page says so plainly and tells you exactly where to confirm it.

How WAYFINDER works
Four steps, built so you can see exactly where every fact comes from.
- 01
Tell us what happened
Choose the situation or describe it in your own words. No account, and only the details that change the answer.
- 02
We gather the facts
WAYFINDER queries the official sources that cover your place — transport operators, road authorities, weather services and government publishers — then records when each answer arrived.
- 03
You get a situation page
What the sources report, what it means for you, and the specific steps to take — with the official sources behind every claim.
- 04
It keeps checking
The page refreshes while it is open, and tells you what changed. If a source fails, you see that rather than a blank screen.
Every fact carries its source
WAYFINDER does not display a status it cannot verify. It queries the official operator or authority for the place you are in, records exactly when each answer arrived, and states plainly what it still cannot confirm.
What we deliberately do not show
- A per-flight status. No public source we can reach publishes whether a specific flight is cancelled or delayed. Guessing would be worse than saying so.
- A guaranteed entitlement. Refunds and compensation depend on your route, ticket and the cause of the disruption. We link to the official guidance instead.
- A confidence figure. Scores imply precision we do not have. We describe the conditions and the reasoning instead.
Public-transport status
Live line and service status from the operators themselves — Transport for London's tube, rail and bus lines, MTA New York subway alerts, and BART service advisories — with the operator's own severity wording.

Severe weather and seismic events
Active official warnings from NOAA / National Weather Service and Deutscher Wetterdienst, recent seismic events from the USGS, and a global forecast from Open-Meteo — with the issuing authority and the affected areas.

Roads and public notices
Lane and road closures from Caltrans, and civic notices from GOV.UK, each carrying the publishing authority and the time it was retrieved.

Honest coverage, not a world map
Live integrations cover the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany today. For around thirty more countries, WAYFINDER keeps a verified directory of official pages — the transport operator, road authority or weather service responsible for that place. Where no live source exists, it says so plainly and hands you those official pages instead of guessing.
Start with what is actually known.
Tell us what happened and where. WAYFINDER will gather what the official sources actually say, explain what it means for you, and give you a prioritised list of what to do next — in your language.
